Dear Sisters and Brothers:

On Saturday, March 19, the Bay Area labor movement will be holding its own "Labor Rally to Bring the Troops Home Now" and organizing its own Labor Contingent in the Mass Antiwar March and Rally organized by the ANSWER coalition.

The Labor Rally Against the War in Iraq also calls for the following demands:

- Don't starve our cities to feed the war machine!
- No dismantling of public education!
- Stop the destruction of healthcare!
- Affordable housing for all!
- Hands off Social Security!
- Stop the attacks on civil rights and civil liberties!

The Labor Rally will assemble at 10:30 a.m. on the steps of Mission High School (18 th St. & Dolores St.) in San Francisco. At noon, the Labor Contingent, led by the ILWU Drill Team, will join the main antiwar action as it marches to Civil Center.

The Labor Rally has been initiated by US Labor Against the War and the Million Worker March Movement. It has been co-sponsored by the San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, SouthBay & Monterey Bay Labor Councils, as well as by the Bay Area Labor Committee for
Peace & Justice, ILWU Local 10, and Pride at Work

To honor the international day of protest against U.S. military involvement in Iraq, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) has announced it plans a protest and will not work any cargo at Bay Area ports on March 19!

The March 19 Labor Antiwar Rally organizers have produced a very attractive leaflet to build support for this antiwar action among unionists, activists, co-workers and friends. It can be obtained in PDF format from the OWC Continuations Committee at <ilcinfo@earthlink.net>.

The Labor Rally organizers also need everyone's help with
phonebanking and other forms of outreach. We are reprinting below the Outreach Appeal from the Labor Rally organizers. Please join us in building this important action within the labor movement and among labor's community allies.

For more information about the March 19 Labor Rally and Contingent, please contact any of the following:

- San Francisco Labor Council at at (415) 440-4809
- USLAW at uslaw@igc.org

Thanks, in advance, for your support,

In solidarity,

Alan Benjamin,
on behalf of the
OWC Continuations Committee
